TESTIMONIALS

January 17, 2025

"Well,we are halfway through senior year and thought I would update you. B. is still high honors student. He got into all the schools he applied to. And he got early acceptance into the University of New Hampshire. He's excited and committed. Seriously if it wasn't for you we wouldn't be where we are today!. I cannot thank you enough he's graduating on June 14. We hope you can make it. Here's a picture of us two weeks ago skiing at Okemo. He loves snowboarding. He has his license and works at a local ski resort. Carole, he's doing really well. Of course nothing perfect he's 17. But I'm so proud of him! I hope all is well with you and that you're doing lots of traveling."

 Hi Carole,

I can't believe you started helping me ( us) when B was age 5!

I just wanted to update you on B....'’s achievements this year. He made high honors all 4 semesters again. He took AP Language and did great. He had a couple of AP classes this year and did great. He’s taking more in his senior year….one year to go. I can’t believe it. We will be visiting colleges this summer and he’s interested in Psychology. I will share with you his AP language college essay he just completed for his final exam. Things have not been easy. But he’s definitely growing up and hopefully maturing. I worry every day about him and school and everything else with being a mom but by reading his essay I feel like he wants to be successful and can see a bright future.I hope all is well with you! On to the summer and senior year.

I hope you have a wonderful summer and I can’t end this without saying thank you for all you have done for Brody because he wouldn’t be the high honor student that he is today if it wasn’t for you!

Take care!!

Good morning,
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Just wanted to update you on B..... I believe I told you last year he made high honors all year. This year, Junior first quarter done and he made high honors again. Starting to look at colleges. He’s doing really well. He has his permit and his license date is scheduled in January. He also works at Dunkin on south Main Street. Money is a huge incentive for B..... He’s doing well. My mom is well and I’m working to much as usual. I hope all is well with you. Again, all this is because of all your help and I can’t be more thankful.

Are your ears ringing?

Dear Carole,

Thank you again and if your ears are ringing sorry about that we have been singing your praises and I have given your contact info to three other families in the district that have just been fed up with the lack of support from the school. I told them how much you have helped us get our son's education on track and how he is thriving. I believe one family said you have started to help them already.

Thank you again!

Dear Carole,

My husband and I cannot thank you enough. I have not slept all weekend thinking of this meeting because I was so nervous about today. You did such an amazing job representing M- my son.

He is going to get what he needs because of you. I did not see the meeting heading in the way that it did.

Thank you for all the work you put into making sure M.......... will get the services he needs.

Just an update!

Dear Carole,

We hope you are doing well. C.... is having an incredible year, and we are so proud of him! Thank you again for everything you did for him and for us. We are forever grateful.

Be well!

All our best,

J .and G. ( PARENTS)

Good morning!

Hi Carole,

It has been years. If you don’t remember us we are from M.... and have two kids with dyslexia. We had an awful experience with O..... school which you helped us to rectify. I am reaching out because M.....,my daughter,  is now in high school. I read that some states and colleges offer a foreign language exemption for students with dyslexia. I cannot find anything for CT. Do you know if that is something that CT. offers or should I just look to go with heavy accommodations for M...?

I want you to know that because of you and your help, both of my kids are thriving in school. We have our small issues, of course, but because you helped us put the proper support into place and because I have stayed on top of the IEP's.  They are honor roll students!

Thank you,

Dear Carole,

Thank you so much for all the attention you have provided my family. When we started this journey, we were overwhelmed. We sat in PPTs knowing that our child should qualify for more services, but not knowing how to make it happen. You have been able to clear the path for our daughter to do her best at school. She not only receives the services she requires but the tools to help. You remain an incredible ally and support system for my family when navigating the land of special education. I am confident in meetings knowing when we enter the meeting you have a plan and an expectation for the outcome set. You do an amazing job at getting everything our child needs. You don’t back down, but you do it with such tact and in a genuinely caring way. My family is incredibly grateful for the role you play in helping my child succeed. I can't put into words what you have done for my daughter and our family.

Not sure you will
 remember us!

June 18, 2021

Dear Carole,

I’m not sure if you’ll remember us or not, but I had to write to you and let you know what kind of success your work has had on our family.

Our son, Daniel J. was denied an IEP in 2015. I worked tirelessly to get them to help me but they wouldn’t budge. That’s where you came in! You worked for us until I could no longer afford your services and then you worked pro bono!

We sat at the table for what felt like forever, and you negotiated an IEP with accommodations for our son!

Your hard work paid off and we were forever grateful!

Fast forward to today. Our son, Daniel is not only graduating high school this weekend but he’s also joined the US Army 9 days later! We couldn’t be more proud!

Thank you so much for helping us make his schooling such a success! Without you, I fear to say where we could have been.

Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts!

Sincerely,

Jodi, Nick and D

Dyslexia

December 2020

"I just finished watching the video on your Otto Educational Consutling, LLC Facebook page. It’s heartbreaking to watch knowing that 5-12% of kids in a school are Dyslexic and that I would bet that most school districts don’t even realize how many children suffer from this. Even with my son, B.,  early diagnosis at 5 yrs old I still see the ignorance every day in teachers as they have no idea what Dyslexia is nor how to teach a Dyslexic child. It’s unbelievable to me in the year 2020 that teachers are not learning about Dyslexia in college and are not getting any training once they become teachers. I’ve lived this for the past 9 years with B.... and we continue to see the incompetence and ignorance from the school district. Thank God we found you and you have made our lives and especially B.'s so much easier although it will continue to be a struggle all the way through college, at least we are prepared!

Thank you, Carole, for helping us with our daughter. Without your help, I don't think my daughter would be back in school and moving forward to her senior year. I do not know what we would have done without your persistent support. We all thank you! Please stay in touch as you are the only adult she trusts to help her at this point.

Beautiful Daughter

December 18, 2018

Dear Carole,

Our daughter has successfully finished the first half of her year at ***********. Our beautiful daughter has grown in so many ways since school started! She performed in her first school play that we all had the pleasure of seeing. She is blossoming into a more confident and happy girl! She has her first boyfriend and has a group of sweet and caring friends. She loves her teachers and is doing well in all her classes. Her father and I feel so blessed that she is finally able to reach her potential and be the person she is meant to be! Thank you for encouraging us to challenge the inadequate education she was receiving and providing us with what steps to take. Thank you for the incredible support we have received from you, our amazing educational advocate ( and family and friends) during all the ups and downs we experienced during the rocky path that led our daughter to where she is today! Happy holidays!

My own Erin Brockovich!

November 15, 2018

Hello Carole,

Thank you so much for all you are doing. My husband and I felt empowered today having you there at the PPT. Our son was a little nervous to meet you after the meeting, but when we later explained to him that you were there to help him get the help he needs at school, he thought about it for a while and then said,

" So she is basically my very own Erin Brockovich!" LOL

Middle School Daughter

September 12, 2018

Carole Otto has been a Godsend for our family. She gave us hope again and allowed us to see all the possibilities for our daughter.

Our daughter has struggled in school since preschool academically, socially, and emotionally. As her parents, my husband and I, constantly worried about her well-being. Carole‘s experience, knowledge and wonderful demeanor allowed us to work together to create a plan to address our daughter's needs in the public school. She attended all meetings with us at the school, and guided us towards what the next steps needed to be taken to address our concerns with our daughter’s programming.

Through our work with Carole, we were/ are able to help my daughter gain confidence, our family to grow and ultimately for my daughter to receive schooling that was appropriate for her.

I would recommend Carole as an educational advocate to anyone who is looking for answers for their child and doesn’t know what steps to take when trying to improve their child’s entire well-being.

Because of Carole we have new found hope, and my daughter is finally happy, has friends, and is succeeding academically.

Excellent Advocate

August 28, 2017

Carole Otto has proven to be an excellent advocate for children with special education needs. She has extensive knowledge of the Special Education system in CT and the wherewithal to navigate through the bureaucracy and regulations that we parents have to go through.

We hired Carole to help keep programs in place for our teen daughter when the school district (we moved to) informed us they intended her to remove her from special education. It was a crucial time for us and our daughter and because of Carole, we achieved our goal. We were very fortunate; because of Carole and her knowledge, we were able to prevent the school from removing programs so desperately needed for our daughter.

Carole has been attentive, caring and very knowledgeable throughout the process. She also did not overlook how important it was to address my daughter’s need for accommodations during SAT testing.

We highly recommend that you consider Carole, as she is the kind of advocate you want by your family’s side.

To Carole:

Thank you for your hard work with my family. I especially want to thank you for your compassion and emotional support you lent my daughter when she shared her stories of being a new member of a community and school. Your kindness was so welcomed in a time when the whole process was daunting and quite frankly, frustrating.

Thank you for everything!
